Patricia Butler

PATRICIA ANNE BUTLER, age 93, on July 25, 2022, after a brief illness.  Longtime resident of Brecksville, OH and recent resident of Shelton, CT.  Beloved wife of the late Donald Butler for 67 years; loving mother of Robert, William (Linda), and David (Nancy); dear grandmother of Jack (Chelsea Turner), Grace, Gina and Evan; sister of the late Bertha Walton (Robert); aunt of Craig Comstock, Gayle Comstock, Chris Kuhr and Rev. Robert Walton.  Born in Cleveland to Minnie Evelyn (nee Niceswanger) and Russell Martin, Pat attended Ohio Wesleyan University where she studied to be a dietician.  After marrying Don, she focused on raising their three sons.  Once her youngest son started elementary school, Pat became a travel agent as she was inspired to travel the world and enjoyed helping others create memorable adventures.  Pat believed that richness and fullness in life is directly proportional to the time and effort given to working with others for the good of the community.  Pat volunteered her time freely serving in various leadership roles with church groups, Daughters of the American Revolution, garden clubs, library auxiliary, historical and genealogy societies, as a Cub Scout Den Mother for each of her three sons, and ushering with her husband at Cleveland Playhouse Square.  She always kept a positive attitude and saw the best in others.  Pat and Don enjoyed traveling the world, lifelong learning, wintering in Port Charlotte, FL, and time together with their family and friends.  A memorial service will be held at NOSEK-McCREERY FUNERAL HOME, 8150 BRECKSVILLE RD., BRECKSVILLE, OH 44141 on Wednesday, September 7 at 1 p.m. followed by a brief time of visiting and a graveside service at Brecksville Cemetery at 3 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice in Pat's memory is suggested.
