Maryanne Rose Salsbury

Maryanne Rose Salsbury, 67, died Wednesday, March 4, 2020, in Cleveland, Ohio. She passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her. She was preceded in death by her father, Norman S. Yunis and her mother, Mary Rose Yunis.

Maryanne was the youngest of three children, born in Cleveland, Ohio. She grew up in Middleburg Heights, Ohio and earned a bachelor’s degree in science from Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA. She was employed by WIC in Cleveland for 22 years, from 1995 through 2017, and worked tirelessly as an Education Specialist and then as a Manager of WIC Nutrition Services, focusing her efforts upon the support and creative education of young parents and their infants’ nutrition. Although this was Maryanne’s primary professional work, she was also an accomplished floral designer, and an amazing gardener and farmer, nurturing her chickens, donkeys and beloved barn cats.

Maryanne lived out her life with deep passion and creativity that colored each of her endeavors. She loved her family completely and fiercely, putting their care and wellbeing above everything else in her life. This was apparent not only in the commitment she lived out in caring devotedly for her Mother for over 10 years, but also in the special and endearing love she had for each of her grandchildren. She pursued incredible challenges, such as her century bike rides, her becoming a master gardener, and her learning to grow an abundantly productive garden. Maryanne lived her days with an open, compassionate and generous heart, always looking ahead at new challenges to pursue, and new ways to make life better for others, especially for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Salsbury and her beloved children, Matt Salsbury and wife, Melissa, Rebecca Juniper and husband, David, and by her precious grandchildren, Maxton and Michael Salsbury and Kaden, Lucas and Megan Juniper. She is also survived by her sister, Linda, her brother, Norman, and multiple loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Nosek-McCreery Funeral Home, 8150 Brecksville Road, Brecksville, OH 44141 on Sunday, March 8, 2019 from 2-6 p.m. Maryanne’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home Monday, March 9, 2020 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Brecksville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Holy Family Hospice, 6707 State Road, Parma, OH 44134.
