Deborah Ann (Puzder) O'Brien

Deborah Ann O'Brien, age 54 of Broadview Hts, Ohio passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Her valiant fight against glioblastoma lasted 39 months.

Beloved fiancée and loving partner of Michael P. Harvey; Daughter of the late Robert and Rose Puzder; devoted Cat Momma to Lewis, Harrison and Murphy (deceased), Cousin to Joan Ganim (Ron, deceased), Marlene Rockwell (Jonathan), the Occhiuti clan: Frank (Michelle), Kim (David), Ann and Bob. Second Cousin to Maria (Bill), Greg (Karla) and AJ (Lauren) among others, and a friend to many. 

After graduating from Brecksville High School, Deb went onto attain a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Bowling Green University and then a Master of Health Administration degree from The Ohio State University. 

She worked in the Columbus Health Care market for five years before coming to Cleveland and holding Senior Manager and Associate Director positions at Ernst & Young. She travelled globally for E&Y and that continued to be an interest of hers in her personal life.

Deb created her own business called Murphy & Me (Murphy being her cat) that supplied cheesecakes and baked items to restaurants and many ecstatic friends. Somewhere in there she also managed to be a Ski Instructor in Breckinridge by day and a DJ by night.

Her dedication to her mother Rose’s declining health was exemplary. 

Deb worked in retail wine sales for several years before landing a sales position at Southern Glazer Wine & Spirits where she excelled. Her love of wine was a true passion.

She earned several professional Wine Certifications including a WSET Advanced Award with Distinction and Certified Specialist in Wine from the Society of Wine Educators.

In addition to wine and spirits, Deb had many other interests and talents. She loved to garden, was an amazing cook and entertainer, designed two kitchen remodels, made jewelry and loved music, dancing and Halloween. She liked walking in the Metroparks or taking hikes when travelling. She especially liked champagne, affogato as well as dairy and fruit desserts like panna cotta, ice cream and of course, cheesecakes. Deb enjoyed her horse Macy and the fellowship of other horse people who became cherished friends.

She was admired for her knowledge and dedication to her account customers. It was said her arms were the envy of other female wine reps.

Her sense of adventure, mega-watt smile and upbeat disposition endeared her to all.

In her mind, Deb and her friend Lisa Brandon were the two funniest people in the world but her and Mike had their MOOF (Make Our Own Fun).

The family would like to thank the Pink Blanket of Love brigade and everyone for their prayers, meditations and positive thoughts over the last few years.

A gathering to celebrate Deb's life will be at Nosek-McCreery Funeral Home, 8150 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, Ohio 44141 on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 5-8 pm and Saturday, May 7 from 10-11 am where the service will begin at 11 am.
